President Muhammadu Buhari told the military and other security agencies to stay strong and keep working hard to solve the security problems in the country. Buhari said this during a special dinner held in his honor on Tuesday night in Abuja. The dinner was part of the activities leading up to the May 29 inauguration ceremony.

The president praised the military for their efforts in the ongoing fight against terrorism, banditry, and oil theft, among other problems. He emphasized that the military should not stop working until they defeat insecurity. The president also mentioned that the inauguration of the Armed Officers' Mess was a positive step in line with this goal.

He stated that the regimental dinner held to mark the end of his term is very important because it gives him another chance to think positively about the past, present, and future of our armed forces. He expressed his gratitude to the military for their loyalty, hard work, dedication, and selfless service to the country. He acknowledged their sacrifices and contributions to the successful elections in the country.

However, he emphasized that more needs to be done by the Armed Forces of Nigeria until the issue of insecurity is completely resolved. He urged the military and other security agencies to remain determined in the face of the country's security challenges. He assured them that his administration will continue to support the military in fulfilling their responsibilities until the end.

He concluded by saying that the sacrifices of fallen heroes will never be forgotten, and he hopes that they find eternal rest in God's presence.

The event had important people attending. Some of them were Africa's richest businessman and Chairman of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, ministers, former military leaders, heads of security and intelligence agencies, other government officials, and a few state governors.
